HPD Violations
HPD Violations are issued by The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), which is the largest municipal housing preservation and development agency in the nation. The agency’s mission is to promote housing equality and create and sustain viable neighborhoods for New Yorkers though housing education, outreach, loan and development programs and enforcement of housing standards.
To check for open HPD violations on your property:Enter your address on the right panel on their website under “Complaints, Violation & Registration Information” It will take you to your properties profile where you can view the HPD history. On the left panel, click “All Open Violations”.
In New York City, renters and landlords have rights and responsibilities to maintain residential property. These rights and responsibilities are outlined in many codes and laws. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development is responsible for enforcing the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law and the New York City Housing Maintenance Code. These laws outline the rights and responsibilities of renters and property owners regarding the maintenance of property.
At the end of the day HPD Violations can be a very difficult thing to take care of. Violation Removal Inc., legitimately cares about each of its clients HPD’s and can work with you to help in resolving the HPD’s in a fast and efficient manner. We can do this by evaluating the building before HPD’s are issued. We can also do this after HPD’s have been issued, we have the team in place to do the remediation work for you, whatever it takes.
Another thing to note is that once an HPD inspector starts issuing Violations, they will come back to inspect, and if not handled properly, the inspector many times will remove a few of the Violations, and actually add even more, making it a never ending cycle. We won’t let that happen. More About the HPD:
